Elementary POS allows you to create a complex cash register system tailored to your business needs. You can use any Android phones or tablets, including cheaper or older models. This article provides a guide for each device, with links to detailed instructions on how to start or connect the given device in Elementary POS.
What Can You Run on an Android Device?
Mobile Cash Register
You can start a simple mobile cash register in Elementary POS in just a few clicks. Download the app from the Google Play store, create a username and password, and you’re ready to sell. The cash register can also issue and print a receipt offline. Other features described below require an internet connection.
Barcode Reader
Do you want to mark goods quickly and avoid having to search for them manually? A barcode reader will help you. In Elementary POS, you can use the camera of the mobile device running the cash register as a reader.
Alternatively, you can use another phone with Elementary POS installed, turning it into a wireless barcode scanner. Everything scanned by this phone is sent to the main cash register or the Elementary POS Office.
Set up a barcode reader in a few clicks.
Customer Display
This display provides a real-time preview of the order for your customers, increasing your credibility and minimizing misunderstandings. A payment QR code will also be displayed if you accept bank transfer payments. The customer can simply scan the QR code from the display to pay.
Here’s a simple guide to connect a customer display to your POS system.
Order Display
The order or kitchen display allows staff in the kitchen or bar to see orders automatically. With easy setup, drink orders can be sent to the bar and food orders to the kitchen. Orders can also be automatically printed on order vouchers.
Pickup Display
This display shows customers the status of their order, notifying them when it is ready for pickup. It is suitable for any establishment where orders are numbered. For efficiency, we recommend using a tablet with the largest possible screen as a pickup display.
External Devices
Payment Terminal
Elementary POS offers flexibility by allowing customers to pay with cash, bank transfer, or card. Our app is compatible with Sunmi, MyPOS, and Carbon terminals. We recently completed a full integration with Sunmi.
